Course Curriculum
Day 1
8:00AM-9:30AM Understanding the +'s & -'s of Impact
In this first section of the program, we will conduct a complete examination of the +’s & -‘s of impact. The system of +’s and –‘s is one of the critical foundations for our teaching program. It relates to everything you will learn – both with regard to impact/ball flight as well as swing shape (mechanics).  In this section, we will also talk about other important terminology including the “plane” of a golf swing as well as the elements of impact.
9:30AM-10:30AM Understanding the 15 Ball Flight Faults (Impact)
During this segment, we will take a look at the 15 major ball flight faults from an impact perspective. You will learn the terminology and characteristics we use to describe the behavior of the ball for each impact condition. We will briefly talk about some common potential causes and corrections for each of the 15 ball flights. We will delve into deeper discussions on these causes and corrections later in the course.
10:30AM-12:00PM A Study of Swing Shape for 1 & 2 Planers
This portion of the course begins to look at our paradigm for analyzing and understanding the mechanics of the golf swing. When we use the term “Swing Shape” we are simply referring to information that describes a component or motion of the golf swing. In this section, we will study the correct body and arm / club movements of both the 1 and 2 plane swings. We will also look at the most common associated faults in the Address, Backswing, Downswing, and Impact & Follow Through.
12:00PM-1:00PM Lunch
1:00PM-2:00PM Understanding the 15 Ball Flight Faults (Swing Shape)
During this phase of the course, we will look at the 15 ball flight misses and focus on the most common faults that cause them. We will then discuss the ways to correct these. We will address these faults and corrections for both 1 and 2 plane swings.
2:00PM-3:00PM Basics of Video Analysis
This section will cover the basics of conducting an analysis of the golf swing using video analysis software. We will cover the basic analysis of both a 1 or 2 plane swing on video and the important lines to draw for both swings. We will use examples of a wide range of subjects and show the correct process for diagnosing swing shape issues.
3:00PM-4:00PM Case Studies - Impact and Swing Shape Diagnosis
In this section, we conduct analysis of various swings from amateur golfers. All 4 Impact/Ball Flight scenarios will be studied. We will review swings where impact and ball flight either equals the swing shape or impact and ball flight are opposite of the swing shape.
4:00PM-4:45PM Swing Shape Fault Combinations
In this section, we begin to get into applying what you learn. This section will help you understand and sort through the most critical elements in a golf swing. We will also look at commonly seen fault combinations.

Day 2
8:00AM-8:30AM Drills and Training Aids
A presentation of important drills and teaching aids used for success in both 1 and 2 plane swings.
8:30AM-9:30AM The 7 Step Lesson Protocol and Implementation

9:30AM-11:30PM Basics of Short Game (Swing Shape)
We will review the key teaching points in the major short game areas – putting, chipping & pitching, and bunkers.
11:30AM-12:30PM Lunch
12:30PM-1:30PM The Matrix - Application Evaluation
1:30PM-2:30PM Instructional Review and Final Q&A
