Happy to report that today I got a fantastic lesson from Jim Hardy at Hearthstone. He did the impossible-he actually got me hitting my driver. It was by far the best golf lesson that I ever had. He is a very good teacher of the Plane Truth OPS fundamentals. I still have a lot to work on, but thanks to Jim I know what to work on.
I had faulty ideas of what both the backswing and downswing were supposed to look like. Once Jim corrected those I was hitting the ball good even though I was losing my posture during the swing by rising up. With my driver, I was thinking that I was hitting the ball with the heal of the club, when in fact I was barely bumping it with the toe. Jim corrected my setup and it felt very strange. I was convinced that I would either miss the ball or bump it on the heal. Instead I hit the ball with the center of the clubface for a tremendous shot. He then had me repeat that several times until I was convinced that I could do it.
If you’re in Houston and you need a great one plane instructor-go see Jim Hardy at Hearthstone.
Thanks again Jim.

Jim is not only a great instructor, he's also a great guy.  Great to hear that he helped!

And not to be confused with the original Jim Hardy, this Jim is listed in the Directory as James Hardy.

He's a little younger and better looking...

Memorialpark:

That's great news! Very happy for you.  I met Jim Hardy , aka ybl, from Hearthstone 10 days ago and know he gave you a great lesson. If  I was in Houston, I would be right there with you.

Its kind of weird isn't it?  You read all the material, understand most of it, but sometimes just can't execute until someone turns the light on. Feel is not real is what comes to mind.  My fault has been spending $200 on range balls, and $300 on different clubs, but trying to do it all by myself. Until now, living in Mi, I did not have any certified 1PS instructors to go see. I do fault my-self for not at least posting a video for some help, but the live lesson from a certfied instructor is the way to go.

So I applaud you for going to see Jim.  When $ is tight as it is often, I just go to a nice range hit a few balls, then chip-n-putt. My brain thinks I played 27

By the way, great range @ Blackhorse up in Cypress>
