FOlks, My post was removed, and I have yet to get a response as to why. In the meantime, I will add the links to my swings again.
I recall Jim Hardy in earlier material stating that he wants the 2 move to be a standing on the left leg right before turning the Shoulders hard with Passive arms. I have been reading on the site, that there is now A movement of the Left Thigh clearing. Would this left thigh movement be a clearing'/ delaying move? Would the Movements of the Left leg be on the Original 4 disc set or in the First two Jim Hardy publications?
Has Jim Hardy done Secrets on Impact yet?

Kid - FYI and for others as well....your post was deleted because it started to become personal. After several swipes back and forth, I determined that the thread had no value for our forum participants. No sense keeping it around.

In your previous post you said ball flight was striaght and impact was solid. From that I would not want to change your swing.
The left thigh clearing is just another way of explaining how the left side must clear for the right side to come froward. While JH says that the shoulders are dominate he also says you must turn yor whole torso which includes shoulders, mid-section and hips at the start of downswing. There are many references to this torso movement in the books and tapes.

I added a Swing Link I think will be good for analyisis. It's a David Duval clip that shows ( in my mind at least) a very hard rip of a Left Thigh Movement to start the chain reaction. How would you compare this Left Thigh Movement in comparison with Hardy's instruction? Cheers folks, kiD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3yYGQvUNf4 |

From the brief clip I would agree that this is what we are talking about. Clearing the left side.

Hey Gang, I thought I would add some more viewing material to the thread. I figure to just keep one thread running, that way the Mods can have just one easy delete when they decide to erase my Posts. Here is a quick video lesson of Chris O'Connell helping my buddy Tom from Knoxville. Tom gets the hooks with the Driver, and Chris was working on the ( Peanut drill ) with him. Cheers, kiD |

Rickenator, I suppose the correct name in Hardy Terminology would be called " The Anti-Hook Pressure Drill." This drill can be found in The Master Class book on page 105 for One planers and again on page 175 for Two planers. The drill basically is this.. Upon taking your normal golf grip, you place and hold a tiny object in between the Palm heel pad of your right hand and the Base of your Left thumb. During the swing, pressure is applied/ kept in order to secure the Objectduring the entire swing. If you watch the O'Connell lesson above, you will hear Chris say that if this pressure/contact is applied/maintained through out the swing, combined with a Twisting of the right arm, you can try as hard as you want to hook the ball and the ball will not go left. Here is a quick drawing to give you a visual. Cheers, kiD |

I found a video that you all might find interesting or possibly worthy of discussion. I have a training aid on in this video in two swings and my natural swing in my first two swings for comparison.. |

Mike, I will not leave you hanging. If you will look at the swings, you will see a Grey bar with Red Circle Sleeves around my arms during two swings. The reason I wanted to use this device, is because on my normal back swing, my right arm stays close to my side and goes more around my body without getting sufficient width first. I feel like my right arm gets so far behind me due to my also very stragiht left arm, that my arms separate at the top causing my right hand to come off the grip among a few other things. If you look closely at some of my other swings on you tube, you might see my right hand comes off the left at the top of the swing. So, the Training aid, was to keep my arms together so i could see the shape and design of my swing using it. I really like a lot of things about the swings with the training aid. I have some bend in the left arm and you can see my right elbow and arm is not so far wrapped around me. I guess to sum it up, I feel like I need to have my Left arm more out in front of me on the backswing/ and or get some width in the take/away possibly. I hope you don't mind if I keep it short and simple. Cheers and I hope this helps to clarify for the study. kiD |

Well Folks, I had an old friend discuss a few things with me about my golf swing from a Pure One Plane perspective recently, and being the Guinea pig that I am, as well as constant tinkerer, I felt the need to Oblige my pal today. The topics that we discussed, were the role of my hips and the motion of my right knee. My buddy was particularly interested in my right Knee/ foot action. I decided to go to the range today before work and get a few videos of me trying to incorporate these aforementioned moves. Instead of trying to explalin it all right now, I am just going to add a diagram I drew to relate the hip action. I am trying to get my Right hip to get deeper in the back swing. I also lifted up my pants, to get a good look at the right Knee action. One more note, I had the camera on a table about thigh high if anyone cares. Here is the Hip Chart thingy I made from our discussions. This is what I am attempting to do in the swings. Here is the Video.. My swings from today SUPER BONUS SURPRISE!! Ok gang, In the spirit of Wild Bill Melhorne, I have decided the best way to describe the HIP Action concerning the OPS that i am attempting, could very well be best instructed from an OVERHEAD view. How in the world could we get an Overhead view you ask?? Well, why not let Old Jim Hardy the Man show us himself!!! I added a Video of Jim Hardy taken from the original 4 disc set, that will really show and give you all a clear detail of what I feel my chart is trying to show and what my pal wants me to incorporate as a One Planer. I will take the video down if you guys want to enforce copywright law, but I hope we can use it for instructional purposes in this post. Without further ado here is Jim. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZWgUjM3ypo (deleted) Cheers, kiD |

Hi Kid - Love the post. Very well done....except you are correct, you can't post that on YouTube. Please take it down. Sorry to be the party pooper, but laws are laws. The attorneys won't let me make exceptions. Maybe you can post your own video trying to explain it instead. I think it is possible for you to get the message across without the excerpt from the DVD. |

Kid, not sure if you are aware of this already, but here is a video from sevam describing a different "feel" for how the lower body and hips work. I believe this has been discussed on the forums previously, but I couldn't find it. Anyways, this was a big help to me personally. It seemed a bit counterintuitive to me a first, but once I practiced it a few times, I was really able to turn my shoulders as hard as I wanted in the downswing and never worry about a hip thrust. Maybe it will help.

I remember when Mike Maves put that video up. He is no doubt a very intelligent guy and a great golf thinker. You can tell he has a real passion for the golf swing. I enjoyed watching all of his videos and reading his book. I am glad you posted it in my thread.. Here is a great drawing Mike put up in the GolfWrx thread on "The Move." Cheers, kiD I went to the range today before work, and I hit balls for about an hour. Since I have been tinkering with my Hips, Knees and leg action, I was hacking it up today. I'm definitely coming in steeper. I was chunking the ball, hitting it fat as hell. I was leaving the ball out right the whole time, possibly leading with the heel at times. Feel vs Real sure is something. Anyhow, on my way out of the range to work, I took two swings trying to use " The Move" for the thread. I actually hit these straight for once, which was nice. Cheers, kiD |

WHat?? Huh?? more videos? Yep. Gang, I am still working on this Hip, foot stuff. I will say I am making terribly weak contact right now, and I probably hit my 8 iron about 124 yards on average today. . I can't hit the side of a barn either. Hitting em Chunky, thin, left, right and anything in between. Here are the vids. |

Still chunking the ball, but I am making progress. I did manage to hit a few solid shots toward the end of the session. I took two swings on the way out, and I think the first one was fat, and the second better. Working on the feet, hips, legs is tough folks! |
