Well Gang,
My Left wrist has had me out of action for another 2  months!!... I am getting old and feeble!!   BUT..  I am pretty much healed up and ready to hit some balls again and tinker with my swing.   I went out  to the Driving range to pay My Long Overdue bill today, and I managed to take a swing video or two.    I have not swung a club in months and I was curious to see it..

I got a New High Speed Casio camera and then Shortly there after got hurt. I am still getting used to the camera, and  my first two swings are not full  in screen, because I didnt have it set up right I guess.  I did manage to get one High speed from the front.  I took one from down the line, but I must have erased it somehow before I had a chance to see it.  Here is what I managed to capture.

Please feel free to Critique or ask questions if you want.

Well Gang,  I went out to Holston Hills golf course to take some Pictures for my Buddy Tom's E- book,  and I had him record a few swings on Video for me.   One thing..  This new camera of mine is pissing me off kinda.     The Next videos should be better, as I will remember to turn off the crappy auto focus..

In this video, I am hitting an 8 iron and then a 5 iron on the regular swings, and the Slow mo swings are all 5 irons and have only one of each swing style.   Each set of  swings are using  Particular swing feels and movements, which are NIGHT and Day in Feel and actual movements.    I could go into details, but I will save you the boredom..

The first set of 2 swings in each series are ALL ARMS and nothing else.
The second set of 2 swings will be  Right shoulder and Left hip triggered only swings.
The third set  of swings are dictated my the movement of the feet only

If you look at the swings with the above info,  you should notice some big differences in them.   I did in fact hit all of these balls like Crap.     It feels good to be able to tinker again.

Please feel free to critique and  questions are always welcome.

Kid, hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will respond but I wanted to point out something that caught my eye.  On the bottom video above, if you forward it to the 10 second mark, it looks like you have lost all of the lag in the right wrist to the point that your clubhead catches up to your hands before impact and passes them shortly thereafter.  My guess is that you may be not compressing the ball as solidly and hitting it inconsistently.  Take a look at the face on video analysis that Mr. Hardy did of Scott McCarron at the 6:58 position and you will notice a much different look than your swing at the same point.  His hands are in front of the clubhead at impact and his left wrist is bowed instead of cupped.  Mr. Hardy's Secrets DVD on lag in the one plane swing was an eye opener for me and it may help you  with this issue.  I think you have a great swing and I commend you for being willing to put it up for review.

Matt,
Tks for commenting.  It's funny, just reading the word Bowing  makes my left wrist hurt.   In the last 6 months, I have had injuries on the top side center of my left wrist, and I have not been able to practice or hit balls  very much..  Unfortunately, No guitar playing either!!         The only shots Ive hit are for these videos, But, Thankfully,  I have felt no ill effects yet.

OK, I will say this about the flipping, throwing action you see.  Some of that is intentional.  If you read back through some of my earlier posts in this thread, you will see that I found a feel that seemed to work.  What I tried to do, was to put the toe of the club head though the center of the ball like an axe blade through wood.  I try as hard as I can to flip and turn the club head over and drive that toe into the damn ball.  I have had problems releasing/ squaring the face up and this flip does the trick.  lol.

With that being said, I think If you look at my latest videos, you will see a slight  improvement from the swings we are discussing currently,  but I am definitely trying to swing the toe in the same fashion in these also.

I have a tour stryker training aid, that really helps me compress the ball, but I am still a little weary to go hard on my left wrist at the moment.  Hopefully a session with the Tour Stryker will get me back in the right direction.

Oh yea, the last secrets I have seen was #6 I think..  Slick-SPec,  who is a member on the forums lives in Knoxville, and he has the DVD's you are talking about, so maybe he will let me borrow them.   I would love to see them.

I appreciate the comments Matt!

I love the Slow Motion camera.  I see a whole slew of things to work on.   My wrist seems to be 100 percent, but my mind now is Clustered with a million swing thoughts.      I hit about half a bucket of balls before work.  I hit the Driver solid and my short irons pretty accurately.   My long irons were weak and pushed.

I wanted to use the Tour Stryker, but the instructor was not there.

I found the Shadows on these swings to be quite interesting.  My swing is an anomaly...

These videos were taken by a fellow one planer here in the forums.  Thanks Rob aka Slik Spek

You'll have a better chance to get some responses if you start a new thread for your swing.

Well, I get out to The Golf practice range only once a month these days. And basically that is to pay my monthly dues...

I had about a half hour to hit some balls before work, and I took a shot from my camera to see what was going on in the swing. The club is 8 iron

I am still basically tinkering with the " no arm lift" as described in my previous video,  and I am still trying to cast and put the toe of the club through the ball in the shape I want.

I am trying to hit a draw in this swing to the Orange Flag, which is left of the bunker.   I play from an open stance in just about every shot i hit these days.  This wasnt the purest strike in the world, but the shot did draw and reach the target.   I was rather Sweepy and fattish at the ball.  I would have liked to have used the tour stryker, but it was not available.   That training aid does help me after a break.

Overall, for not touching a club in a while, everything looks about the same.   I see a lot of things I can work on.

Any comments or critiques are welcomed and appreciated.

Well Folks, I managed to keep my left wrist healthy for two months!  The bad news is I sprained the heck out of my left ankle two months ago and have not been able to hit balls!

Some other interesting news is that I broke my phone,  my computer died and I dropped my high speed camera and broke it!!

The good news Is I got a newer better camera and my Left ankle is healed enough to hit balls!

I bought my new ( used)  camera and the battery was almost dead, so I only got one swing.  Any critiques or comments are welcomed.  Cheers!

I was browsing around on you tube and found this great video of Jim Hardy giving a few lessons.  I figured I would add it to my post.  Enjoy.

Hi gang,
I have a good friend, who upon moving to a smaller house, was giving away a bunch of his training aids.  I grabbed the ones I found useful and wanted to try them out.

The three aids I am trying here are the Hardy Swing Jacket, Greg Normans Secret and  a Tour Tempo
earpiece.     I have some Ballard stuff and a few other gadgets I did not get to test yet.

It started to rain, so my night practice session was cut short.  It was also pretty dark since it was 11:30 pm at night.

Not sure about the aids, although I've used the swing jacket quite a bit....but I love that you are breaking several laws and maybe a few windows in your effort to get better. Stay Thirsty my friend.

ROLMFAO at YBL!!!!

kidwilson, if you ever make the pro tour, that last vid shows everyone the dedication it takes...finding the smallest piece of grass hitting foam balls in the middle of a walmart parking lot at 11pm is just stinkin awesome!!!

BTW, does the swing jacket give you any new left arm connection feelings you've never felt before?

Also, couple questions about your swing as I've always thought you get into pretty good positions w/ your OPS...what are your bad shots like (and why)...what bad tendencies (if any) do you work on...what are some of your swing thoughts that work the best for you?

Hello there folks,
Well,  I haven't touched a club in months and for some reason the desire to play golf just isnt there these days.  Unfortunately, Im still under contract to pay monthly dues at my Practice range!! I had to pay late fees galore! lol.  Anyhow,  I figured I would take some swings and see what my swing was looking like since I was there.    Here is every swing I made.  The regular speed swings are first and the 240 fps slow motion swings are at the end.  In the video, I am using one of the instructors clubs, and it is a 52 degree Tour Striker training aid.    CHeers. Kid

Any and all comments are welcome.
